Meet the Greater Expectations Program Director

Beth Orth, Greater Expectations Program DirectorHi! I am Beth Orth, the new Program Director of Greater Expectations. I have worked with persons with special needs for over 30 years. I am a certified Special Education teacher and have taught special education for 21 years. For the last 12 years, I have taught in a structured classroom for students with autism.

beth orth, greater expectationsOn the home front, I am a busy mom of 8 kids and 1 grandchild (soon to be 2). Four of my kids are grown and have homes of their own. The youngest four are still at home with me. Two of my children have autism. Matt is 24. He lives in a group home and attends a day program. Tristen is 11. She has more significant needs: nonverbal and seizures.

I have a unique perspective as an educator and mother of persons with special needs. Most recently, I used my knowledge and experiences to serve families across Kansas as a Parent Education Resource Specialist for Families Together.

I am super excited to work directly with “students” again. I have missed the joy of teaching and am eager to build relationships, set goals, and achieve dreams! If you have questions about our program, please don’t hesitate to contact me at borth@ilrcks.org.
