Connie Erbert, M.S., General Manager
- Professional career has been devoted to serving individuals with developmental disabilities with an emphasis on autism spectrum disorders.
- Worked with and received Level 3 training from the University of North Carolina (Division TEACCH). Invaluable in shaping her delivery of services.
- Previously worked as a teacher for the Wichita Public School system for 10 years teaching individuals diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Served as a Teaching Specialist for categorical autism classrooms throughout the Wichita USD259 district for over 10 years.
- In 2007, Connie founded the Community of Autism Resources and Education (CARE) program at Heartspring
- Founded the first walk for autism in Wichita – CARE Walk.
- Founded Camp SSTAR, a social skills, technology, arts, and recreation summer camp at Heartspring
- Served on the Kansas Governor’s Commission on Autism under Governor Sebelius
- Foster parent for individuals with autism
- National and international speaker with a specific emphasis on creating sustained services for adult individuals with autism entering college, Functional Behavior Assessments, Behavior Intervention Plans, and Parent Support Systems.

Audrey Hummel, M.S., CCC/SLP, Intake and Program Manager
- Passionate about early intervention services
- Licensed speech-language pathologist for 13 years
- Started her career in the Plano ISD school district in Texas. Five years in both the K-5 elementary and PPCD Early Intervention setting
- Dual certifications in Kansas and Texas
- Experience working with a variety of different developmental disabilities, specifically working in an inclusive classroom designed for children on the autism spectrum
- Previously worked for Cornerstone Home Health in Fort Worth, Texas. Training and experience with language/communication/social development, behavior management, feeding therapy and more
- Audrey trained with Division TEACCH serving as an Autism Specialist for the Kansas Autism Waiver
- Worked at Heartspring for 6 years in the Outpatient Pediatric Clinic. Audrey’s exceptional commitment to families led to private therapy for clients in their homes
Andi Tatom, Program Manager
- Professional focus for the last 16 years has been to help both children and adults on the autism spectrum and those with other developmental disabilities
- Andi has a great desire to help individuals support their personal goals by cultivating tools to help them live fulfilling lives.
- Previously worked in the residential setting at Heartspring overseeing individuals in group homes
- Also served as caretaker and supervisor at Heartspring
- Expanded her professional skills in the psychology department as a behavioral specialist
- Helped develop Student Support Plans and Individual Education Plans for individuals attending the school at Heartspring
- Continued working with individuals on the autism spectrum by serving as Instructional Support Staff
- Worked with clients and trained staff on programs designed for the Kansas Autism Waiver
